2015 Winner – Danielle Quattromini

Following a nationwide search to find the next rising star in hospitality, Daniele Quattromini, then Manager at Club Lounge 39 in Canary Wharf and Lusso Catering, was crowned the winner of the prestigious Gold Service Scholarship in 2015, aged 25.

Daniele was recognised for his commitment to service excellence at a glittering awards ceremony held at Claridge’s London. Since winning the prestigious title Danielle went on to work at Cliveden House, and now can be found in the Northall at the Corinthia, where he works as the Operations Manager.

Edward Griffiths CVO and Sergio Rebecchi were among the elite panel of judges charged with selecting the 2015 Scholarship winner. Daniele competed alongside eight other national finalists at a luncheon service at The Connaught Mayfair to secure the coveted title.  As winner became an ambassador for the hospitality industry and a shining example of the potential success and rewards a career in front of house service can offer.

Speaking at the event, Alastair Storey, Chairman of BaxterStorey, and Chairman of The Gold Service Scholarship Trustees said: “This is the third year of The Gold Service Scholarship and on behalf of all the Trustees I would like to thank everyone involved for their magnificent support in helping encourage young talent to join and enrich our industry. Hospitality and tourism is vital to a healthy UK economy – it accounts for almost one in ten jobs and 8% of GDP. To remain globally competitive and attract overseas visitors and revenue we need to continuously strive for excellence.  Great Britain has an outstanding international reputation and is a popular and historically rich destination. However we must constantly innovate to stay at the forefront of our industry globally.
It is therefore with enormous pride and gratitude that I can announce that Her Majesty the Queen has agreed to become Patron of the Gold Service Scholarship. Her Majesty’s endorsement is a huge encouragement to all of us and, I believe, reflects the value of our sector to the well-being of our nation.”

The hospitality industry continues growing and we need to reach out to young people and encourage them to join our vibrant industry.

Willy Bauer OBE, Founder of the Gold Service Scholarship

Daniele Quattromini, winner of the Gold Service Scholarship 2015, said: It’s an honour to be selected as the Scholar for 2015 and to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner James Fleming. The next year will be an incredible experience and I feel so fortunate and privileged to know that I will be working alongside industry greats in so many revered venues and establishments. I hope over the next year my own work and experiences will inspire other young people to pursue a career in this dynamic and rewarding industry and better understand the huge breadth of opportunities available to them within it.
