‘It is with sadness, and gratitude for a life spent in passionate support of the hospitality and food industries, that the Gold Service Scholarship respectfully acknowledges the passing of Sara Jayne Stanes OBE on 24 July 2021.
Chairman of the Gold Service Scholarship Alastair Storey said: “Sara made the world of food and hospitality her absolute focus for many, many years. We are so grateful for her insight and dedicated support over the last decade as an active Trustee of the Gold Service Scholarship.”
An inspiration to so many, Sara was a true epicurean, a consummate networker and absolute champion for her many charitable endeavours, in particular her roles as Chief Executive of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, Adopt-a-School, the Academy of Chocolate, and as a prolific food writer.’
