The Gold Service Scholarship Prizes​

The Gold Service Scholarship exists to inspire, educate and nurture the UK’s finest front of house talent.

The Scholar’s Award

The winning scholar will be invited to join the Trustees at a luncheon at Coutts, The Strand, with a special menu created by Executive Chef Peter Fiori, to agree a planned programme of placement, support and mentoring.

The tailor-made Scholarship includes:

  • An invitation to Champagne Laurent-Perrier
  • A briefing on how to manage your media reputation, using social and other platforms – by Piers Zangana, Director at Susa Comms
  • Intensive 2-week wine course: WSET Level 3 Novice to Professional
  • An invitation to the prestigious Catey Awards at Grosvenor House for the Scholar and a guest.
  • Three 60 minute coaching sessions from Lead Executive Coach, Scott Robson from the Dorchester Collection Academy

 

Plus a choice of three from the following:

  • Placement to work and experience a State Visit to Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle

  • Five day placement at The Waterside Inn, Bray with Chef Alain Roux and Frederic Poulette

The Winning Finalists’ Awards for Professional Development

Other prizes for the Gold Service Scholar and Winning Finalists have or will include:

  • One day placement to work and experience a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace
  • A four day tailored programme at the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne supported by a Bursary from the Lord Forte Foundation

The Semi-Finalists’ and Quarter Finalists’ Award for Professional Development

The Gold Service Scholarship invitation has included:

  • A professional wine service workshop by Camilla & Vine hosted by The Savoy Hotel and supported by The Savoy Educational Trust
  • On-line “Tourism for All” training programme to help Front of House staff provide high quality service to those with disabilities
  • Signed copies of the ‘Food and Beverage Service 10th ed.’ by John Cousins et al
