2023 Scholar - Jupiter Humphrey-Bishop

Jupiter Humphrey-Bishop, a footman at the Royal Household, was named the Gold Service Scholarship’s 2023 Scholar on 15 February at a gala reception and presentation at Claridge’s in London

Humphrey-Bishop, 22, previously worked at the Cliveden House hotel in Taplow, Berkshire, as head waiter. Her career has also included roles as an F&B assistant at Tylney Hall hotel in Hook, Hampshire, and cocktail bartender at Eastbourne’s Grand hotel. Having proceeded through the Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final assessments, where tasks and interviews covered a wide variety of front-of-house skills, all eight of the Winning Finalists shone through. Of the three awards presented on the evening, a special commendation went to Robin Tola, head waiter at Hélène Darroze at the Connaught in London, who was named the winning finalist who showed the most consistency throughout the competition. Charlotte Bailey, junior assistant restaurant manager at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, was the winning finalist who showed the most potential.
